Changes in the Management Board of ITERUM, a PET recycling company within the Eco Baltia Group

On October 3rd of this year, changes were made to the existing board of JSC (AS) ITERUM, a PET bottle recycling company within the largest environmental resource management and recycling group in the Baltics, JSC (AS) Eco Baltia. Andris Ābele, the current director of the plant, has joined the Board as a member of the Management Board. These changes were made to strengthen the company’s governance and promote the faster development of ITERUM in the international market.

The Chairwoman of the Board of ITERUM, Jūlija Zandersone, said that this has been a year of growth and transformation for the company: “In June this year we experienced a ‘rebirth’ of the company under a new identity, as the former PET Baltija became ITERUM. In addition, we have been working for several years on the construction of a new and modern production facility in Olaine, which will be officially opened on October 23rd. The new PET recycling plant will be one of the largest in Northern Europe and will mark the beginning of faster company growth this year. On this basis, it is crucial to strengthen the company’s internal governance as well. We are therefore delighted that Andris Ābele has joined our Board. Since June, he has quickly proven himself as a professional expert in the ITERUM management team.”

Andris Ābele, the director of the “ITERUM” factory, has joined the Board as the fourth member. The company’s Board continues to consist of the current Chairwoman Jūlija Zandersone and Board members Matīss Leitis and Jekaterina Vasiļjeva.

After joining the company’s board, Andris Ābele is responsible for improving the efficiency of PET secondary raw material production and modernizing the plant in line with current technological capabilities. He is also focused on increasing the quality standards of the final product, improving safety at work and addressing other issues related to the operational management of the plant. Over the past ten years, Andris Ābele has worked in management positions in manufacturing companies, including those producing metal structures and building materials.
